If you're in the market for a new projector for your home, but don't want to spend thousands of dollars on one, there are options out there that can make this doable. You can hook up an inexpensive projector (just make sure it has HDMI-in) to your computer and use it with a free PowerPoint projector program like Office Projector.

It's not only easy and affordable, it also saves you money in the long run because you won't have to worry about renting or buying hardware like DVD players or other devices that go into duplicating content.

For a presentation with PowerPoint, all you need to do is:

Connect the HDMI cable from your computer to the HDMI port on your projector. Make sure both devices are powered on before connecting.Use Windows Explorer on your PC to open up the file where you have the PowerPoint presentation saved (you'll have to make sure that's in a folder of its own). Use File Explorer on your computer if you're using Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010.

SeeYing T5 may fall in the affordable projector category, but it would be naive to underestimate it as it has impressed thousands of customers with its top-notch visual performance.

Then open up a new window and go to \\127.0.0.1\C$\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office15 and double-click "PowerPoint shows". When it opens, click "File -> Open". Drag the PowerPoint presentation you want to show onto the screen.

You'll have to make sure you're on your home network (you can click the "Network" tab in the top right corner of your PowerPoint program if you're not already there), and then click "File -> Office Projector". When it's open, go to File -> Open and then choose the file you want to show. In this case, that's our PowerPoint presentation that was pulled from C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office15. That should take care of everything for you! Enjoy your free projector software.

Now that you have the free projector software installed on your computer, there are a few things you can do to make sure it works right. First of all, you should make sure your PowerPoint projector program is set to full-screen mode. This will fill up the entire screen with whatever it is you want to show. It's important that windowed mode be turned off, otherwise there will be a border around the presentation and people won't see everything clearly.

Finally, if you want to keep showing content over and over again, all you need to do is go back into Office Projector once it's already opened and then click "File -> Show Again". It works pretty much the same way.
